Hunde an die Schulen (Robot-Dogs go to school)

In short:

The Microsoft Hellhounds are one of the top teams in robot soccer world wide. To achieve this we always need the newest robots and equipment. For this reason we want to make the "older" robots available to schools nearby free of charge.

The Project:

The project: This project is directed to teachers from Dortmund and the nearby cities. It requires very good C++ skills from the teacher and a high motivation and an adequate development environment at the school. Our software need Visual Studio 6 or Visual Studio .NET and Windows 2000 or Windows XP as the operating system.

The software:

We provide you a modular robot software. This is basically the German-Team code which won the Robocup World Championship in 2004. The robots can be freely programmed: walking, acoustic signals, scratching ears .. . But don't forget that the robot contains a real computer. You can also implement every typical educational assignments like sorting and binary search trees.

What we provide:

One or two robots per school
Training of one teacher
Help on technical problems
Meetings with all involved teachers
Meeting with all involved pupils at the end of the school year

Requirements on your side:

Good C++ skills
High motivations
Adequate developing environment

We look forward to your contribution to help make this project a big success.
